About our Events

I wanted to thank you and the people at Max Lager’s who made my husband’s birthday party such a success! The staff was fantastic and did a wonderful job ensuring the evening was everything we wanted it to be. The food was awesome and I had many compliments on how great everything tasted, especially the buffalo wings…. Above all, given I had to plan this event from Canada, you did a wonderful job making it easy for me to do! – Anne-Marie

Your staff did a great job and provided outstanding service for the event…. The food was great, too. Just a really nice experience all around. We will certainly be rebooking with your venue in the near future. – Chris, American Audio Visual Center

Just wanted to say we had an amazing time at your place!  It was fantastic! I’d totally go back and do another event there in a heartbeat! The food was outstanding!! I’m still salivating thinking about the filet mignon, the asparagus and chocolate lava cakes; extremely yummy stuff! – Regina, Rubbermaid

“Overall, Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery is truly one of your best bets for quality food and drink in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. There’s no need to eat at the same old chain restaurants that dominate in the area; visiting Max Lager’s instead will provide you with an opportunity to savor quality hand-crafted drinks and fresh, Southern-themed cooking. The prices are right as well, making Max Lager’s both affordable and worthy of being considered destination dining.” – Nicole

“5 Stars. Staying in the hotel next door, we just happened into Max Lager’s on the 4th of July before taking in the fireworks in Centennial Park. The beer was fantastic (great selection of brews) and we enjoyed steaks that tasted like no other we had ever had. They were excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked (Manhattan & Filet)!!! Top notch food, ambiance, wait staff and we enjoyed talking with Alan about the restaurant. Very friendly place – you can bet we’ll be back!” – LeAnn

“We were in Atlanta for a conference and I booked our reservation for 8 at 6:30pm. There was a 2 hour wait when we got there…glad we had a reservation! Didn’t have a clue about the place but enjoyed it so much the first night, we went back a second night. Wait staff super…. Delicious grilled shrimp and grits, georgia trout, ribs, pork chop…all very good. We didn’t peruse the wine list but enjoyed many of the fresh beers on tap. Something for everyone. We even ventured upstairs and shot some pool after dinner. We were glad to have a casual restaurant that served excellent food, and not too pricey. All in all it was a 10.”

“Beer Pairings Offer Unique Experience” – With all of the dining options available to visitors of Atlanta, Downtown is often overlooked. However, if you want to drink some quality microbrews and dine on continental offerings with a Southern flare, Max Lager’s is the place. You can park across the street at a discounted rate (Inquire with staff). The décor is industrial and cheery. I enjoyed a meal at the bar. The bartender was courteous and knowledgeable. It was a chilly December afternoon, so I started with a cup of Gumbo and a Gold Lager. The Gumbo warmed me with its flavors and healthy chunks of chicken & sausage. The lager balanced with it well. The bartender informed me of the days lunch special and did little else to influence my decision. The Beef Brisket Tacos sounded too good to pass up. Ronnie, the bartender, suggested a Brown Ale to go with the tacos. Again, another good call. The tacos were served with a side of corn salsa and green chili sauce. For dessert, I enjoyed a Max Abbey. It was flavorful and delicious with a hint of sweetness at the finish. Insofar as exceeding my expectations, I would have to give this experience “Two Thumbs Up!” – Hiawatha

“I go to Max Lagers at least once a week because I work downtown and would consider it one of my favorite places to go around Downtown Atlanta….Judge it for yourself, but coming from a regular, I love this place.” – mjl528,

“Great experience here. I came for a business trip near by, and ate alone the first night here. Two nights later, I brought a group from work by, and we had an equally great experience.
When one in our party wasn’t drinking much from her apple martini, the waiter asked what the problem was…. When it still wasn’t quite right, the bartender made a drink for her especially on the house. Food was good–the grits and shrimp particularly. The beer selection was phenomenal, especially for Atlanta–the in house IPA was great.” – 5 stars, Andrew, Alexandria, VA
